J “SCHOOL OF ILL” MANNING

Jay Manning is a music enthusiast and host of Music for Breakfast. His love for music started at a very early age as he spent most of his childhood in Chicago, admiring and studying the art of hip-hop and rap.  This Southside representative began interning at his hometown radio station Power 92, learning the basics of radio first hand. He spent five years working and learning from Lisa E, Leon Rodgers, Rocsi Diaz and Rico Rodriguez, trailblazers in Chicago radio.

While in college at SIU, Jay became heavily involved in party promotion utilizing his growing network to bring major Chicago DJs such as DJ Pharris and Sean Mac and DJ Nehpets to homecoming events. Helping a friend record and work a mixtape introduced Jay to a completely different side of music that he immediately fell in love with. This propelled him towards working in artist management and transferring to MTSU where he majored in Music Business. Jay was able to work on his artist demo with and get advice from highly respected Grammy-Award winning producers such as Teddy Bishop, Shannon Sanders and Rockwilder.  During this time Jay was interning for Interscope, Grammy University,  and John Monopoly’s Hustle Period. Enabling Jay to work on promotional projects for Hustle Period’s clients including Kanye West, Shawnna, Naledge, GLC, Carl Thomas, and producer No I.D.; these internships were integral to his development and understanding of the music industry.

After college Jay continued doing event promotions and while working at Interscope Records he started Hybrid Entertainment to market and promote artist’s album releases in popular Chicago nightclubs. This allowed him to promote projects from such artists as 50 Cent, Kanye West, Eve, Common, and The Game. Applying his  knowledge and experience gained over the years, Jay ventured into Indie-artist management, launching a 6 Stop multi-city mini tour for his artist, Pule, as well as executive producing his successful debut LP. Since, Jay has gone on to launch his Pro-Black clothing line, Collector Culture, and The Goodfoot Project, which focuses on giving back and improving the underprivileged community. As a  Music IV Breakfast host, Jay looks forward to cementing himself in the industry he initially fell in love with.

OCTAVIA “iHANDLEBARS” MARCH

When you hear the titles “music producer”, “radio imager” and “business executive”, you do not imagine a powerful woman fueling these accolades. However, when the name is Octavia March, the titles exceed expectation.

The dynamic music producer, songwriter, radio imager and business executive started her affluent career studying music production at American InterContinental University in Atlanta, Georgia, perfecting her craft in audio software/hardware engineering, thus receiving her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Fine Arts.

In 2009, Octavia launched her own production company, iHandlebars Production, which specializes in audio and music engineering. In 2011, she began her career as a radio imaging producer, later imaging director at Atlanta’s number one radio station; V103 where she also worked alongside radio personality, Ryan Cameron on the top rated morning show in the city, “Ryan Cameron Morning Show” as a technical producer and imaging director. Her production vocation was a fluid segway into her position as imaging producer for syndicated countdown shows such as, Nick Cannon’s, “Cannon’s Countdown”, & Big Tigger’s “Live In The Den”. In addition to her promotion in a professional engineering environment, she powered her very own show, “Loud Pack” amidst DJ Kash & Lil Bankhead.

Octavia’s career expanded outside of her position of being a technical and imaging producer at V103 and blossomed into becoming the studio manager & lead engineer at Sony Music/ Bad Boy South’s spin off label, Block Entertainment; but not before placing her stamp as the producer of the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks Code of Conduct Song in 2013.  In 2014, while studio managing at Block Entertainment, continued to inaugurate her career by expanding her imaging by producing for radio stations throughout the US, Africa and the Bahamas under iHandlebars.

In 2015, Octavia served as the assistant producer to Chris Carmouche at Stankonia Studios, the birthplace of some of Outkast’s biggest hits over the last decade, in midtown Atlanta. Continuing to govern her career, in 2016 Octavia produced the Porsche Foxx Show and the Michael Baisden Show on Atlanta’s Mix 877, Old School and R&B radio station. Her next opportunity arose as freelance producer for the Laugh Out Loud Network. In 2017 Octavia took on the role of producer of “The Baller Alert Show” where she currently works, amidst lifestyle specialist, Kenny Burns, Su Solo and Ferrari Simmons.

Furthermore, she is currently the imaging director for Atlanta’s Number One Hip-Hop station, Streetz 94.5. Also, in late December of 2019 Octavia launched Music IV Breakfast, a music countdown show, accompanied by intricate music segments & analytical commentary amongst a panel of black music enthusiast: Kia “KC” Carter & Jay Manning.

As a woman in a male dominated career, Octavia has declared her space in the audio production engineering industry by maintaining her professionalism, accuracy and precise knowledge of her craft, which has landed her into distinguished roles. She continues to prove her knowledge and versatility in ALL areas of audio production.
