A spokes person for TikTok insists that they have”never provided user data to the Chinese government, nor would we do so if asked.””TikTok is led by an American CEO, with hundreds of employees and key leaders across safety, security, product, and public policy here in the U.S. We have no higher priority than promoting a safe and secure app experience for our users.” TikTok maybe LED by an American CEO; however, it is owned by Chinese company ByteDance, and is currently one of the most downloaded apps

across the globe. By te Dance has been accused in the past of having ties to the Chinese Communist Party and censoring certain content on its platform, specifically “social and political topics,” Just last week, India banned TikTok and tons of other Chinese apps due to concerns over national security and user data privacy.
